Pellets ENplusA1 e pellets ENplusA2

The ENplus A1 and ENplus A2 pellets are quality classifications established by the ENplus certification based on the European standard UNE-EN ISO 17225-2, which defines specifications for solid biofuels, particularly wood pellets intended for non-industrial use.

The ENplus A1 and ENplus A2 pellets are quality classifications established by the ENplus certification based on the European standard UNE-EN ISO 17225-2, which defines specifications for solid biofuels, particularly wood pellets intended for non-industrial use.

Main differences between ENplus A1 and ENplus A2:

  • Ash content:

    • ENplus A1: ≤ 0.7%
    • ENplus A2: ≤ 1.2%
  • Nitrogen content:

    • ENplus A1: ≤ 0.3%
    • ENplus A2: ≤ 0.5%
  • Chlorine content:

    • ENplus A1: ≤ 0.02%
    • ENplus A2: ≤ 0.03%

These differences indicate that ENplus A1 pellets have lower ash, nitrogen, and chlorine content than ENplus A2 pellets, making them more suitable for domestic use in stoves and boilers, as they produce less residue and require less maintenance.

Recommended applications:

  • ENplus A1: Ideal for domestic use in stoves and boilers, thanks to the low ash content and higher energy efficiency.
  • ENplus A2: More suitable for industrial applications or systems with advanced ash management, due to the slightly higher ash content and other elements.

It is important to note that while ENplus A2 pellets can be used in domestic settings, they may require more frequent cleaning and maintenance of the equipment compared to ENplus A1 pellets.

To ensure optimal performance and longer lifespan of heating systems, it is recommended to choose ENplus A1-certified pellets, especially for domestic use.
